Scott Driscoll

Scott Driscoll is the National President of United Retail Federation
As National President, Scott has overall executive responsibility
for the Federation in Australia.
Scott is also the Chairman of the Board of the Australian Small Business Coalition www.australiansmallbusinesscoalition.com.au, a new incorporated association established to represent the broader small business sector and which has a bright future as a policy "think tank" contributing to positive national debate across a range of small business policy issues. Director of the National Association of Retail Grocers of Australia.
Scott has owned and run his own HR and IR consulting business in the past, also in support of other small business operators. He has also worked as a financial adviser with some of the most respected banks and financial institutions in Australia. Scott also currently has a small family owned business in the gift retail sector.
Scott currently and formerly has sat on various government steering committees and takes an active role in advocating on behalf of members and the broader retail and small business community in Australia.
Scott's role as National President of the United Retail Federation sees him making regular national media appearances on television, radio and in print media. Various media clips and recent media releases from Scott can be accessed on this website via the media button on the website front page.

Mary Downing
People and Performance Manager
Mary leads the People and Performance division of United Retail Federation
Mary has a master Degree in Employment relation and prior to joining United Retail Federation, she worked within the Australian Government of DEEWR (Department of Education, Employment and Workplace Relations) specifically in the Workplace Authority.
Our People and Performance division covers the provision of services to members of the Federation across the spheres of industrial relations, OH&S, staff training, human resource consulting, dispute resolution and mediation.
We also provide assistance to members in the form of representation in the various commissions during employer-employee disputes and claims.

Don Jowett
Accounts Manager
Don Jowett manages the finance and accounts for United Retail Federation

Ben is the Policy and Media Adviser to Scott Driscoll, National President of United Retail Federation
Ben has a background in a number of high profile policy, campaign, media and communications roles at all levels of Government. His work has involved all areas of Communication and Government relations.
As an adviser to politicians, executives and industry groups he has demonstrated his expertise across campaigns, communication strategy and policy work. He has enjoyed managing major projects for a broad range of sectors, companies and industry groups.

Phil Chapman
Leasing
Phil Chapman is the Director of Lease1, the preferred advisor for lease and premises matters for United Retail Federation members.
Phil is a Certified Shopping Centre Manager Australia with a rare and industry acknowledged background in Retailing, Shopping Centre Management and Property Leasing from which he has combined experience spanning 25 years.
Through his formative years in the industry working in retail shopping centre portfolio management, he developed a comprehensive understand of retailing issues and subsequently transferred his acquire knowledge and expertise to retail and commercial leasing consultancy.
Phil has a proven track record creating win-win situation by negotiating positive outcomes for parties in all aspects of leasing matters.

Ralph Edwards
Leasing
Ralph Edwards is the Director of Lease1, the preferred advisor for lease and premises matters for United Retail Federation Members.
Ralph has a successful history as a Retailer and former Franchisor. From initially working in his own small business to developing Australia's largest Sunglass Franchise system operating in excess of 140 outlets, he acquired extensive hands-on experience in Leasing, Property Portfolio Administration, Franchising and Franchise Management.
His has also been involved with the Franchise Council of Australia (the nation peak franchise industry body in Australia) for many years in various roles where is presently serves as its Chapter President for Queensland, in addition to concurrently being a Director of the Council's National Board.

Trudy Logan

Trudy is the Executive Assistant to Ralph Edwards and Phil Chapman of Lease1.
Trudy has extensive background in Administration and Accounts with over 15 years of experience across a broad range of businesses from small local businesses through to large multi-national and international companies. Her roles with a number of large companies have involved key support working alongside executive and senior management, as well as broader administration and systems development.

Tam Avery
Business Broking
Tam Avery is the principal of The Retailers Business Brokers, the preferred business broker for United Retail Federation members.
Tam has owned and run his own businesses, including a retail chain operated nine outlets from central Queensland to the Gold Coast. He has extensive experience in retail business ownership and has also operated a manufacturing business based on the Gold Coast.
In addition to his retail experience he has also worked in retail property management for over 10 years working on of Australia's largest private shopping centre owners and with major agencies including Jones Lang LaSalle and Knight Frank.
Tam has a Graduate Diploma of Business Administration from the University of Queensland and has been a fully licensed real estate (Qld) since 2001.

Michael Wild
Business Broking
Michael Wild is the Business Support Associate of The Retailers Business Brokers, the preferred business broker for United Retail Federation members.
Michael has a wide, general background in business which spans industries such as franchising, retail, packaging and marketing, warehousing and areas of hospital administration.
His experience over the past 20 years has been through state and national roles in a number of different businesses and includes time within a large international company although, a strong underlying element throughout has been maintaining a predominant involvement working with smaller businesses as well.
His roles have variously involved managament and related adminstration of assets & insurance, franchise system development, wholesale and retail selling with related sales administration & training.
